'Stayed for a night to get a different experience of Rio. The villa is immaculate and rooms comfortable. Views of the city below are amazing. The staff are prompt and helpful. Booked a spa treatment which was followed by use of the glass steam room also overlooking the city below.
This villa is a converted house which is owned by a family with roots in Santa Teresa. The family was on site the day we stayed and were super friendly when they approached us. '

Breakfast was great! Very much to choose from and everything was fresh. Egg station could make you any egg you wanted.

Be aware that the neighbourhood is not the cleanest or most touristic one. But it is safe. You can take a taxi/ Uber to any place very easily....

From the airport we split a taxi with another couple that had to go further than us. We bargained about the price and we end up paying the same price as if we would have taken the bus (30 real). '
'Hotel is just renovated. All rooms are new, friendly staff, good pool, breakfast ok. Of course for the cheap price you can not expect 4 star things for a 3 star hotel. Area is safe, although it is advisable to leave valuable things behind. I did not use the safe but it is possible. It is close to all the bars and restaurants of vibrant LApa.
