'Great property, nice for our family, but would also work really well with 2 families staying together as 2 bedrooms are upstairs and two down. The two living rooms are also great for doing separate activities. The house has been really well maintained and has everything you could need in the kitchen, plus 2 smart tvs, wifi, games and books about the area. The owner lived across the road and was so kind, met us when we arrived and was chatty and interesting, but didn't intrude on us at all. We...

'We loved Macaulay cottage - it’s in a great location for visiting the many wonderful beaches and bays on Harris. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. It was a great place to return to after a day out. Some of the well known walks (Scholars path and coffin trail) start from the cottage or nearby. We enjoyed kayaking with seals in the the bay by the cottage. '

'Joan's house is very spacious, well equipped, and perfectly located within 10 mins walk from the local shops (provisions, crafts and tweed) and the local restaurant, deli, ButtyBus, harbour and lochs. Thee ideal base location from which to explore by vehicle, bike, or on foot. Slept like logs, all of us.
