It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again.'

'Perfect contrast from the bustle of Tokyo and Osaka! But, this also means not much is open close by so need to walk a bit for dinner. Phone said we got almost 30k steps after wandering the bamboo forest, monkey park, temples, etc. '

It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms.
