'If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relative’s house in the small town. It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again.'

We were greeted by an extremely attentive staff who whisked our luggage away to our mountain view room. We received hotel slippers and were given a tour of the hotel. It is a perfect location if you are looking to wake up early and walk to the bamboo forest, you can be one of the first people there. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. "Heerlijk verblijf gehad in het hotel. Mooie kamer, goed ontbijt. Vriendelijk personeel én natuurlijk de heerlijke spa. Echt een pluspunt. Even ontspannen na een intensieve dag was heerlijk. Gescheiden spa, waar je je eerst helemaal schoonboent van top tot teen voordat je gaat ontspannen in het heerlijk warme water.
