'Staff are great and went out of their way to ask if a couple wanted to swap their twin room for our double. Room was very dusty on windowsill and other surfaces. Milk stains on the furniture that had the tea facilities and generally not well cleaned. Bedding looked like it had been hurriedly thrown on, same with towels. Breakfast was really nice with friendly staff again. '

'First stay here for a party in Brighouse. Superb welcome from staff on arrival and shown to our room. Accommodation is across the road from the pub and events so nice and quiet and a great space at the front of the building for a evening drink. 'We really enjoyed our one-night stay at the inn. We managed to snag an amazing deal at half the usual rate. Our 2-bedroom room was very clean - only a couple of snags were experienced. The first sleeping area had no bedside lighting and the second had no accessible mains supply! The breakfast included was excellent. The setting for the inn is fantastic - lovely area to walk around.'

'My single room was compact but clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were the most friendly I’ve ever encountered, nothing was too much bother. The hotel was full of character, a pleasure just to sit and have a beer. Location at the top of the hill was a perfect starting point to explore the village. Definitely recommend staying here.'

'Excellent stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived till we left. A very pet friendly hotel, the staff went out of their way to please the dogs as much as us. 'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts.
