'There is a lot of good about the property and the room we stayed in. Everything is brand new, but here are some things to consider. The apartment we stayed in had two big massive windows which is awesome, but the shades are only light filtering so it's still pretty bright in the room at night. The blinds in the bedroom should have had black out blinds. So you might want to bring your own sleeping masks to help make the rooms darker. The only other downside is how loud the AC is when it turns...

'We stayed for 2 nights everything was good except there was no housekeeping service and the worst part was the bed, it was so uncomfortable everytime you moved it'

'This was a very cute hotel! Nice deco and close to Canal Park. It would have been nice to have a top sheet for the sofa bed. There may be people who don’t use one but us seniors do. Please put one on the bag for next time.'

'Good place to stay and absolutely fabulous location that is minutes from all the cool stuff to do in Duluth and Superior. I just wish they had a water fountain to refill water bottles and that we could connect more than two devices to the WiFi. Hard to get good cell phone signal sometimes.'

'We enjoyed a quick getaway at the GG Barnum Mansion. The property was beautiful and quiet, and our room was quite comfortable. The neighborhood was lovely, and we enjoyed a muffin and coffee on our way out. We would have enjoyed using the sauna if we had had a bit more time. '

'The reason I gave only 3 stars for the staff is because the house keeping staff did not seem to care about getting rooms ready for the next guests to checkin. They wouldn’t respond to the front Forest to see if rooms were ready. It to the general manager showing up to get them to work harder. We waited 3 hours after our checkin for our room to be ready as did many others people. The front seat people were besides themselves! 'This property was beautiful. Many areas for guests to use outside and inside. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking for guest behind Mansion. Quiet and safe location. Coffee, tea, muffins, fruit in am. Room had plenty of towels, toilet paper, nice ftidge, mictowave, coffee in guest room. I loved this place and will stay in the future.'

'It's not the HI Express. Parking was plentiful in the ramp across the street. You walk to find breakfast, but all the shops were good (except the bakery-that was excellent!!). Canel walk was close enough, but you will be tired after walking all day. The room we stayed in had character-dark walls, the walkin glass shower had stripes like a cage! We'll probably check it out the next time we visit Duluth.'

'The location was great with a view of the harbor and the lift bridge from the room. It was a short walk across the lift bridge to Canal Park and good food, museums, and shopping. We went to the Great Lakes Aquarium, the William A Irvin ore ship museum and walked along Lake Superior. The buffet breakfast was great and everything was clean. This was a wonderful place to stay.'
