Villa is in an ideal location. Outside areas were secluded and good, although seating needs updating.
Several issues throughout the stay left us disappointed. We had problems with the security of the villa and the safe, which were highlighted to the owner at the start of our stay. His initial response was basically ‘…i’m sorry but I’m not on the island at the moment’…we responded by saying surely you must have someone who CAN help….unfortunately we never heard from him again regarding this particular issue , so we ‘gave up’ and put up with the issues for the whole two weeks, however he insisted he had responded, but we truly never got anything…at the end of the stay he told us because he had hadn’t heard back from us he had ASSUMED!! everything was ok….to assume, is that acceptable ?
We had problems due to heavy rain and storms, which resulted in the patio area flooding. He responded quickly to this, and it was resolved. Due to the storms the electrics also cut out, and water came in above the kitchen window…not major problems , so we didn’t inform the owner until the end of our stay , as we knew how to reset the electrics..but it’s something you don’t really need!!
We also didn’t receive the promised welcome pack on arrival , and no mid-stay clean took place until we asked the cleaner, when she came to change the bed linen and towels , to at least clean the bathrooms for us. On informing the owner at the end of our stay, all we got was excuses, which might have been true, but that should have been HIS problem, not OURS !, and shouldn’t have had any impact at all on our stay.
We have been staying in the Playa Blanca area for almost 20 years, and this was our worst experience by a long way.
