This visit went beyond our expectations. Have you ever experienced a place or restaurant that you almost hate to share because you feel like it’s your personal hidden gem? Sublime Samana in Las Terranas is now our private getaway spot. It’s essential for you to reconnect with yourself and your partner. But if you simply MUST bring the kids, this is as SAFE and amenable a resort as you can find in the DR. My fiance and I were literally stunned from the moment we stepped out of our car. The staff is a collection of humble, helpful, and peaceful characters. With a special thanks to Karina, Yefry, Jose, Jose, Jose, Juan, and Rony! (If I’ve forgotten anyone, please forgive me, friends!) Although we are planning other trips to the Caribbean and Europe in our future, if we ever need to disappear to a place we love and trust. We will be coming home to Sublime Samana and hang out with our people. A , 5-stars…a magical experience!

Casitas are NOT in good shape...urgent repairs.
We rented a Casita with Jacuzzi in rooftop. I had been here about 9 years ago, and you can tell the maintenance has been 0 since then. Broken fridge, stove, oven, dish washer, hot tub, broken glass in balcony (serious danger for toddler), kitchen leaking gas... its a long list, just beware to keep your expectations close to reality. Also, the food needs an urgent revision- we continuously ranked food a 2/5. I am sure they can fix this, however, it was not a good experience, and speaking to other guests they all agreed. Regarding the hotel and beach: They remain to be the most AMAZING place, relaxing, and beautiful location, almost unbeatable. Gardens are beautiful. Best pool to relax.The staff in general was awesome, the great service of Jose made a difference in our stay. They do need to fix the casitas if they want to keep the "small luxury hotels" seal and Conde Nast Recomendation.

We appreciate your good comments about our facilities, beach, location, beauty, pool, relaxing ambience, etc. but we regret your perception of the property be the one of a sloppy place with not maintenance after 9 years. It is not possible to have this product without the appropriate maintenance. If you verify the facts, you will learn that last September the hotel was close per one month in order to renovate and give the appropriate maintenance to all units and common areas. We also regret that you have not mentioned to anyone at the property regarding most of the issues you are mentioning or pointing out now, which do not allow us to do anything about it. Please notice that we would really appreciate if you would have taken the time to share those experiences with us during your stay. As per your knowledge and records, you have mentioned to our staff the stove issue and broken glass in balcony; making us feel bad about it to the point that due to the inconvenience a goodwill gesture of US600.00 was offered to you as compensation.It is surprising your comments related to food, as after verifying the hotel records we find out that you ate repeatedly at the hotel; reason why the US600 given as compensation were used to pay your F&B consumption and an extra difference have been pay by you. We strive to create the best possible experience for our guests so it was disappointing to learn that the accommodations did not met with your expectations. We encourage our guests to share their concerns during their stay so that we may address them immediately and create the experience they come to expect of the Sublime Samana. However, we have taken correctives measures which does not be harmful neither to our customers, nor to nature; so at night we are lighting citronella's candles as a natural repelent. Dear Customer, We are really sorry that due to unknown reasons for us, you were not able to stay at the hotel in the dates when your reservation was made for, and that due to lack of response from you the reservations department based on the rate policy have had to penalized your reservation.It is not fair from your side to publish comments related to an establishment (hotel) if you have not stay at it. The kind of comment you have published is generic reference to a whole, while your only experience with Sublime Samana has been that on the date when you were supose to stay, informing that you would not be able to come; so as an exception reservations asked you for when would you like to change your reservation (as it already applied to be penalized). Since June 9th until yesterday July 21st. there were no response at all from you. Every area or department was understaffed, condo not prepared upon arrival even though we arrived one gour late, restaurant slow at every meal and food undercooked, especially breakfast. This morning, it took one hour for them to serve us breakfast, they messed my bill during checkout and we are only talking about the charge for incidentals seriously, no cleaning service at night so we had dirty dishes sit in the sink overnight and garbage full as well. It took 30 minutes to get dish soap. They brought a roll of paper towel like you get from a commercial bathroom. The shower heads need serious cleaning or replacement. My daughters’ room did not have hot water until the second day in the late afternoon. The pools near the restaurant were not cleaned well. You can readily see the staff do not smile even though they are friendly, They are obviously understaffed and look disstressed in every area of the hotel.

Clelisia, at the front desk provided an amazing service at all times, she was very accommodating, one of our tours with the hotels got canceled and she helped us arrange different ones. The hotel has a lot of potential but….
The hotel has a lot of potential but it needs a better management tram that will fix all the missing details. The power and water went out several times EVERY DAY. The Jacuzzi was filthy and when they came to turn it on it poured more dirt and rust parti les into the water. Also they have a faulty electric heater attached which gave me a strong SHOCK when I touched the water. I immediately turned it off and did not enter the jacuzzi again. The woodwork needs attention throughout the hotel. The pools need to be resurfaced and thoroughly cleaned. The food was ok. Service was ok.

Water kept being interrupted, intermittent electricity black outs, warm water comes and goes, no pressure, loud ac, too many mosquitoes, cockroaches, got double charged on checkout, staff was nice, but theres no quality assurance to back it up. Guest service took 5 hrs to send tech for AC and had to move rooms at 10pm coz couldnt stand heat and noise. Jacuzzi dirty and hot water didnt worked as expected. I expected a lot more. Food was nice, location on, pool is fine. I loved that theres no music or entertainment, i could relax when out. We can do better if we take care of basics ops

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und hat alles dafür getan, dass wir uns rundum wohl fühlten. Jeden Tag haben wir neue Strandtücher für die Sonnenliegen erhalten und unser Liegeplatz wurde immer perfekt vom Personal zurecht gerichtet. Das Zimmer war geräumig, sauber und hatte alles, was wir für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt brauchten. Das Frühstück war gut. Die Speisen am Abend könnte man optimieren. Die ganze Woche gab es die gleiche Menü in beiden Restaurants. Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Strand war perfekt und wir konnten die Sonne und das Meer in vollen Zügen geniessen. Ich würde dieses Hotel jedem empfehlen, der nach einem entspannten und komfortablen Strandurlaub sucht. Samana ist immer noch sehr authentisch und zum Glück noch nicht vom Massentourismus entdeckt.

Fuer den Standard in der Dominikanischen Republik ein gutes Hotel, aber sicher kein Small leading Hotel of the World. Dazu passen zu viele Dinge nicht: kaputte Dusche beim Bezug des Zimmers, die Reparatur erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfassen. Badeschuhe nicht in der Größe des Gastes am Zimmer verfügbar, kein schwarzer Tee im Kaffee/Teeset, Fernsehen bei Bezug nicht funktionierend, dann repariert…. Sehr großzügige Zimmer, sehr gute Betten. Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, das Strandrestaurant guter Standard. Der Strand eher schmal, den Wellen stark ausgesetzt.
