'The rooms are very comfortable, interestingly decorated, and well equipped with plug outlets, etc. Only negative is that meal service ends at 8pm in the restaurant, and road traffic can be a bit loud (if you are sensitive).'

'The room was clean, well furnished and had a cozy feel. We would stay here again, however, there were some minor issues. The toilet flush ran continuously and was audible at night. The cover over the shower plughole was broken and the lead on the kettle was too short and had to be used on the floor. Also the mattress was too firm for us.'

'Fantastisk koselig hotell/pub i en enda mer fantastisk typisk engelsk landsby. Knutsford er ett lite sted med masse flotte butikker og spisesteder i landlige erkeengelske omgivelser. Cross Key Hotel passer utmerket inn i bildet og er ett hotell/pub med sjarm og høy standard på rom, dog kan selvfølgelig noe pusses på og en Beer Garden sommerstid var flott å sitte ute på. God frokost og typisk pubmat forøvrig med meget velutstyrte rom. Kommer igjen !'

'Gezellige pub/hotel met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Toen we erg vroeg weg moesten stond beneden een ontbijtje voor onderweg klaar. Je kunt er ook lekker eten. Het zat iedere avond vol met locale maar als gast heb je gegarandeerd een tafel. '

'Lovely hotel, utterly delightful rooms! Yes the curtians need replacing as other people have said, but it's almost in keeping with a 600 year old building. Food was OK but not special. Tutbury is pleasant and the castle is worth seeing! All in all a very pleasant stay and will go back.'

'We came here as I’m sure many do as a base for our Alton Towers adventures. The accommodation is basic but perfectly suited for this. After all we just needed a comfortable place for our family of four (inc. teenagers) to rest, wash and eat breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. 'A nice stay but could have been excellent with a bit more attention to detail. Could have done with a vacuum. Shower gel hasn’t been replenished and pillows weren’t great (not much to them). Great location for bars, restaurants and shops. Easy online check in with key codes entry (can’t generally get in early as it’s unmanned and doors don’t release until 3pm) - guy cleaning did let us in at 2:30pm though which was kind and appreciated. Parking is a pain (not owners fault) car park next door...
