'The staff at the blue jay pub were absolutely lovely and so helpful ,all i have to say is probably a member of staff needs to be alocated in the hotel to save keep walking to the pub to get extra milk ,sugar and toilet roll ,oh and the doors from the hotel room doors are the most loud and scary ones being slammed for hours and hours on end and the floor from the room above us we were room 108 is the most loudest floor heard every footstep all around there rokm so came back from weekend stay...

One word of warning, and this is an expedia issue is that the pin location that they have set for this hotel is 1.8 miles off, meaning if you are there for an event you are 35-40 minutes walk away from where you thought you was. 'The hotel room was ok and spacious. Shower gave not so much water. But in general it was a rundown place. We had to wait for food and breakfast long times. At breakfast some plates were not clean. The juice containers were almost empty. And on our departure date we couldn’t get breakfast because of a problem in the kitchen. 'Good sized room and the bed was huge. The rooms are above the bar area which was fine as its wasn't too noisy. The car parking is easy as there is loads of space. I used this location as it was a short drive to the Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. the kitchens close about 8:30 ish so if you are late back for food I can recommend the Indian about 100mtrs down the road. All in all a nice location for a few days away'

'Room 10: The carpet looked like it had been vacuumed for a while. Dedicated coffee was still hanging on the apparently washed coffee cups! There was a piece of candy stuck on the floor in the bathroom. There was no toilet brush and the bottom of the toilet was dirty! Too bad because the beds and bathroom looked fairly recent. With some attention to hygiene this would be a good hotel. You have to take into account that it is next to a guarded truck parking lot where the refrigerated trucks can be...

'Lovely hotel, utterly delightful rooms! Yes the curtians need replacing as other people have said, but it's almost in keeping with a 600 year old building. Food was OK but not special. Tutbury is pleasant and the castle is worth seeing! All in all a very pleasant stay and will go back.'
