'I came to Hacienda Roman knowing that in this part of Peru, you can't expect all the amenities like WiFi, cable TV, etc. If you go in with reasonable expectations, you'll be happy with this hotel. The pros: Staff are quite nice. Food is tasty and available fresh on site. Personal attention, especially the tour of the coffee/jungle out back, is phenomenal. The entire stay was worth it just for this!! The cons: Cooking is unbelievably slow; it took us no less than 1.5 hours to finish a meal...

'Cool location, nice room with our own plunge pool but, very big but, the dinner is horrible. Really bad food, advice is just walk into town and grab a burger!!!'

'We had a lovely room with comfy beds and a great shower after our Inca Trail hike. The included dinner was good and the spa services were excellent. The staff was also very helpful holding our bags and delivering them to our room.. We also enjoyed walking around the area around the hotel and the market and it was only a block to walk to the train station.'

'Someone was waiting for us at the train station to take us to Rupa. That was nice because the place is not easy to find. Also someone carried the luggage which was much appreciated while it's a very steep climb to the hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated and staff is very helpfull and speak good english. So a perfect place to stay. Only negative I can say is that the showers where not hot but that is realy the only thing. '

'We finished our tour of Machu Picchu and our bus didn’t leave for hours so we booked this hotel to take a nap/relax. The room was not ready but the staff got it ready for us quickly. Great location, comfortable bed, an friendly staff. '

'I would gladly give it 5 stars! The room was spotless. There was hot water and heat! The Lomo Saltado made by the hotel restaurant was amazing. The location was away from the city center. Overall, this hotel provided a great experience, and I look forward to returning. '
