'Nice overnight stay with my partner. Room spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. A little soft for my liking but I did sleep well. Was very thankful for the fan and I’m used to sleeping with one at home. Delicious food…the steak and ale pie was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfast before the long drive home. Would definitely recommend the Captain cook Inn and we would be more than happy to stay again. '

'De eerste indruk was een beetje sjofeltjes, maar dat viel binnen best wel mee. Grote parkeerplaats. Het hotel ligt langs de A19 tussen de weilanden en ongeveer 10 minuten met de auto naar Hartlepool. Er is weinig personeel en zij hebben dan ook meerdere functies. Inchecken ging soepel. Wij hadden kamers aan de kant van de snelweg. Deze waren schoon en er waren genoeg handdoeken. Koffie en thee op de kamer. De naastgelegen snelweg is goed te horen, dit doordat de ramen verrot waren. 'A lovely hotel right in the middle of the pretty market town of Helmsley so very convenient for shops, bars and restaurants and close to the castle. Breakfast excellent and having dined in ths restaurant in the evening also some good food choices, if not necessarily the cheapest. The room was of a very high standard, very comfortable and spacious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. '

'De auto kon gratis voor het Hotel geparkeerd worden, maar er is ook een aparte parkeerplaats voor hotelgasten. In het historische pand had ik een wat gedateerde kamer, maar dit was in lijn met de prijs. Ontbijtzaal en café zijn gezellig en bij mooi weer is het lekker buiten op de binnenplaats waar ook locals iets komen drinken. Rustig Engels dorpje.'

'Staithes is mine and my partner's favourite place in the UK. We have stayed in Staithes a few times now and I can honestly say I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The location is perfect with a bit of a sea view from the bedroom window. The cottage has a lovely cosy feel to it, beds are really comfy and has everything you need for a short/ long stay. 'We had a wonderful week at the folly.The weather was very nice and we visited lots of sights in the neighbourhood. We would especially recommend Raby Castle. What a beautiful place to visit. The house was very nice and the owners were very friendly people. The only thing we missed were the curtains in the bedroom. '
