The Folger House op historische Academy Hill, Nantucket

  • Gelegen in de stad tussen het Jared Coffin House en de First Congregational Church aan de historische Academy Lane, is dit prachtige huis in de historische binnenstad van Nantucket deze zomer voor het eerst te huur.

    Het land werd oorspronkelijk gekocht door de familie Folger in 1799 toen het oorspronkelijke huis werd gebouwd. Het huidige huis omvat een prachtig aangelegde tuin, parkeergelegenheid voor één auto, zes slaapkamers met drie volledige badkamers en twee halve baden.

    Eerste verdieping: Klassiek koloniaal huis in de centrale hal. Woonkamer, grote eetkamer, keuken, wasplaats. Slaapkamer met twee eenpersoonsbedden met een volledig eigen bad met een klassieke clawfoot bad / douche. Tweede complete badkamer met een douche. Keuken en eetkamer open naar de achterporch en tuin.

    Tweede verdieping: Eerste master bedroom suite met een kingsize bed en bijgevoegde half bad, tweede master slaapkamer met een kingsize bed, slaapkamer met twee aparte bedden, een slaapkamer met een eenpersoonsbed. Volledige hal badkamer met douche / bad. De badkuip is een klassieke klauwvoet.

    Derde verdieping: grote open kamer met een kingsize bed en een eenpersoonsbed en een half bad.

This is a charming house in a wonderful location. We were seven adults and five young children, and were able both to gather and be apart comfortably.

Absolutely Wonderful

This house is magical. We had such a lovely stay at this historic property for a girls’ weekend on Nantucket. The location in town with close proximity to the beach and ferry is so convenient. Can’t wait to come bACK!

Lovely vacation on the island

This is a wonderful home for an active family. We could walk to boat trips, a grocery store, and museums, bike, drive, or take the bus to several beaches, and come home to eat around the big table. This is highly recommended for folks who enjoy the historical ambiance of the island.

Wonderful vacation

Very quaint house. Excellent location. We are allowed a late checkout time. It was a hug favor since we have young children and elderly. Will definitely stay there again.

The best location!

We couldn’t have asked for a better located house for our MDW trip to Nantucket. Very walkable to central locations and it was so spacious with enough sleeping space and bathrooms for all of us. Communication was great and there wasn’t a single hitch all weekend. We already can’t wait to come back!

Great stay

Staying in this historic house in the historic district of Nantucket was just what we wanted. It was in walking distance to almost everything we wanted to see. We had no need for a car because there are taxis and large vans to take us the few places that were not in walking distance.

Everything was fantastic. You can't beat the location of the property! Only thing could be improved is the third floor bed sits on wood slats and is really uncomfortable. Thank you for letting us rent your home.

Incredible Location and Property!

Our group had an incredible time during our stay. The hosts were very informative and the check in/check out process was seamless. The house is in a perfect location close to town, but very quiet as well. The set up of the house worked great with many different bedrooms and bathrooms split up across the group. Thanks again to Michael and Harry - we will definitely be back!

Party like it’s 1799!

This house is perfectly rustic, in a quiet spot just a block or two from the heart of town. Kitchen has been updated but mostly everything else is old and quaint, as it should be. Only one of the main bedrooms is “en suite” with an attached bath but the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. It’s all we needed!

The house is beautiful because it hasn't been gutted and turned into a modern mess: it's an old Nantucket house with tons of charm. The owner was really helpful and so was his caretaker. The cleaning woman was very nice.

Had a wonderful stay.

The location couldn’t be better. The place had a rustic charm that was comfortable, not fancy. The kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of room for 10 people to sit at the dining table and to also spread out throughout the house when we needed space. There were a few things we’d recommend to improve: one of the king beds had a terrible mattress that sagged in the middle, one of the twin beds collapsed, and the dryer was broken for most of our stay. But overall we were very happy with the property and with Harry as host. He did his best to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even let us check in a day early because of the hurricane barreling up the coast! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
