'Our stay was amazing, no faults at all! The staff were incredible in every sense, so accommodating, so welcoming and all the little touches went a long way. The room was perfect and had all the amenities we needed. The pub had amazing food in the evening and the breakfast was 10/10!'

'We loved our stay at the George. Jos and Lindsay are lovely and run a very nice business. We had two rooms, wife and I and Daughter and Partner. We arrived soaking wet after a walk on Mam Tor. Checked in, had a laugh with the owners, parking was easy, rooms are excellent and clean, food good, beers good. 'Dog friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Free on site parking is very convenient. Easy walking distance to Fox Valley and all its amenities. On occasions, at weekends, rooms at the front of the hotel, you can hear people leaving the pub at the end of the night. Although the noise doesn’t go on for long. It has never put us off staying. '

Staff really friendly and we ate there in the evening and although it was fully booked they found us a table. Plenty of choice on menu and they had gluten free options which was great for us. 'Gezellige pub/hotel met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Toen we erg vroeg weg moesten stond beneden een ontbijtje voor onderweg klaar. Je kunt er ook lekker eten. Het zat iedere avond vol met locale maar als gast heb je gegarandeerd een tafel. '

'As always, hospitality is defined by the people who provide it. The hotel staff was magnificent in this regard. From the breakfast servers to the front desk, everyone was kind, helpful and wore a smile. A special mention for the cleaning staff who did an excellent job every morning. Breakfast was delicious with options such as eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict, although as a continental European i would have liked to have seen some cheeses at the buffet.
