poor experience
Arrived at 5:30 pm. Stairs to the apartment are windy with a partial railing. The lighting is poor and the hallway is unclean.Got a quick tour. AC did not work ( Outside temp. was100 degrees). Greeter called and was told how to fix it. After 30 minutes no AC so we called and texted several times. Greeter finally contacted us on Whats App and said she could do nothing further. We tried to reach her and the host for clarification but no response. The heat was unbearable but we had no choice but to stay. Because of the lack of communication we made the decision to leave early (change fee was 990.) No portable AC or fan was offered. We are both 77 years old. Called the next morning and talked to Matteo who was totally inappropriate. Continually talked over us, very loud and interrupted repeatedly. He stated that a tec would be over . The tec arrived a few hours later and got the AC to work. 10 minutes later the AC stopped again. He returned later and got the living room AC to work but not the bedroom. Spent second night in the living room and left the following am. The apt is in a great location close to the Compo. The access is poor with no lift. The apt. could use some updates. It is in a noisy area. Security is poor. Obviously communication with the host is extremely poor. ( We have been VRBO hosts for 20 years ). The host reimbursed us for the base rate for 2 nights only. No consideration for the inconvenience or additional airfare.
