It was indeed excellent. However, I would recommend having a microwave at the end of the hallway or dining with a microwave for the guests to use by themselves around the clock! I will definitely come back this summer!

In the heart of everything. Clean and simple and comfortable. Walls are a bit thin from other rooms. But overall really nice.

The hotel location is perfect. We went to celebrate Mother's Day and had a wonderful time. The staff was great, the hotel is immaculate and the other guests were super friendly.

The Grove has been renovated since last summer. Mostly cosmetic upgrades but rooms are clean, beds were comfy. For the price, it’s a great deal.

Haven’t been back to Fire Island in years; it hasn’t changed as much as I would have thought. Spent my summers at Sailors Haven and different towns on the Island; always had fun in Cherry Grove. Stayed during the shoulder season, but the weather and beach was superb. Dining opportunities were better than most of the other towns out here this time of the year. The Sand Castle was our “go to” dinner location and their food never disappointed. D afternoon drinks at Island Breeze and The Tiki Bar were excellent, and of course, the entertainment at the Ice Palace was a ton of fun! The hotel is conveniently located to the dock, the beach, restaurants and entertainment; you can’t ask for a more convenient location. One note re: the hotel; be sure to request linen changes and new towels. It’s not provided unless you specifically request a service!

Very disappointed with the management
I booked this location because it was advertised to be in Sayville. However, 15 minutes after booking this NON REFUNDABLE room, the hotel advised me that the only way to arrive is by Ferry; it’s NOT in Sayville at all! I explained my dilemma and asked for a refund. The ferry scheduled is limited, worse, due to a forecasted Tropical storm Lee, the ferry would be canceled! They finally agreed, after much ajeta to rebook for another day. Receptionist actually hung up the phone on me when I call them a fraud… This made my reservation absolutely useless since my only reason for booking was to attend a show in Bohemia. Buyer be aware… I am going there next week only to make use of the credit they provided

Michael, we are disappointed to read this review. We apologize regarding the confusion of our location. Since Cherry Grove shares a zip code with Sayville, it can prove to be confusing for guests who have never been to our location. If you examine our listing, you will see that our location on the map is indicative of our location on Cherry Grove. The listing also states we are located in Cherry Grove. Additionally, guests are automatically sent a message immediately after booking that states the only way to arrive to our location is by taking a ferry. You mentioned in the review that you were advised of our location 15 minutes after booking the room. Our records show that you called us the day after you made your reservation which was also the day of your scheduled check in. It should be noted that even though the weather was poor, multiple ferries were running on that day, however, considering the inclement weather, we made an exception to our cancelation policy and allowed you to move your non-refundable reservation to the following weekend. During our conversation, the motivation behind you booking the hotel was never stated. Had this been known, perhaps we could have come up with a more agreeable solution as it relates to your situation.

Beautiful decking around the pool with the cheapest tacky plastic furniture you could buy. Shower area by pool old, dirty and needs to be replaced. One end of the pool area in the back filled with trash. A hose is needed by the entrance to the hotel to rinse sand off your feet. Maybe have a set up for coffee in the morning.

The rooms have undergone a nice renovation. They were perfectly clean and modern. The exterior of the complex has yet to be renovated. It is disorganized and messy - as you might expect during the middle of a project. Because it is part of the Ice Palace complex, there are events scheduled throughout the day and night. That makes for a lot of fun, but there doesn't appear to be someone who oversees setups and take downs. It would be helpful to have someone overseeing the general operation and run a tighter ship. Nevertheless, the weekend was a lot of fun. We would return.
