When we decided to return to Skye, it was without a doubt that we would spend part of our vacation at The Backrest. It did not disappoint. The house is bright and equipped with all conveniences. 'We were met on the ferry by chance by the lady that owned the house that we were staying in, she led us directly to the property and showed us round the house. The house was exactly as described, clean, tidy and very well equipped. The lady's husband worked on the ferry and on one occasion he phoned his wife and asked her to make sure we were going to arrive on time. The whole experience was perfect.'

'We had a wonderful stay at Tides Uig. The pictures do not capture how beautiful the view is from the home. We also loved the daily visits from the local sheep. The space was perfect for multigenerational group. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. We also appreciated that basic supplies that were provided. The location was perfect with just a short drive to many locations on Skye, but away from the business of Portree. We had a wonderful dinner at the Uig Inn and two locations within...

"Dit hotel is te duur voor wat het biedt. Ons diner was zeer matig. Een heel klein stukje vlees en een berg aardappelpuree voor ca 30 euro vond ik erg tegenvallen. "

"The pod is very nice, clean and has a lovely view. Very near to Portree and all the restaurants, shops, etc. A perfect location to start exploring the island from. Breakfast is great (a cute tray with yoghurt, croissant, fruits for every table and on top of that you can order warm food from the menu) The people working there are very friendly. Unfortunately they are short of staff and you notice that. Breakfast takes a bit longer than usual, the restaurant was shut on one of the days we stayed there and the lounge/bar was closed during our stay. Luckily there is a pizza guy (Pizza in the Skye) just down the hill that makes terrific pizza’s to take and eat in the pod with some Netflix on or to sit out and watch the stars if the weather is good. Would recommend this stay for the location, view, cosiness, etc. but price is quite high. Though I must add prices are sky high on Skye everywhere.."
