First impressions mean everything, so when we pulled in the driveway and saw the rusty garage door and then walked into the lower level door and smelled mildew, we had concerns. Luckily, the upper floors did not smell bad. Communication with the rental agent could be better. They sent a communication saying there would be keys on the kitchen counter to use, but there were none. They also sent information for the internet, but it was wrong. Luckily, found key in a basket along with internet code.
Living room furniture is worn. The electric recliners were not working and I had to go under them and make connections to an extension cord. My wife washed some things in the kitchen sink and found water dripping underneath. She went to the lower level kitchenette only to find that the drain was clogged. Contacted the rental agent and they wanted pictures before they would come out. Came the next day and repaired the main level kitchen sink. One other little irritation was they apparently had a new refrigerator delivered recently. It was plugged in, but they didn’t remove any of the inside packing.
After that it was smooth sailing.
The beachfront location is wonderful. Walk over the dunes and you’re on the beach, but exiting the driveway is very hazardous. The view of the road is obstructed and you’re pulling out onto a 50mph highway.
I think if they added some dehumidifiers on the lower level and did some general maintenance, this could be a top notch property.
