'My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!'

'Sugar Suite is a beautiful property. Not too far away from Sault St Marie. Very clean and comfy house. Boat was as advertise but it did the trick for my angler husband and kids. Check-in was easy and getting a hold of Laurie was super easy and got a quick response. Would recommend and stay again. '

'Wow! We were absolutely amazed by the wonderful hospitality of these hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and provide such a peaceful and gorgeous setting on Sugar Island. The house was perfect for our large family and everyone was very comfortable. The small store on site has ice cream, cold drinks and unique treasures. '

'We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house. The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite. We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool. We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!'
