4.100 vierkante voet mooie prive bakstenen huis met 4 slaapkamers aan het water direct aan de James River met toegang tot water en een spectaculair uitzicht op het water. Prachtige zonsopgangen en dieren in het wild om dagelijks te bekijken. Geweldige rustige locatie in de buurt van vele toeristische bestemmingen, waaronder Busch Gardens, Water Country, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown en Chippokes State Park. Het mooie historische Smithfield ligt op 25 minuten afstand. Er zijn twee keukens, een keuken op de begane grond en een op tuinniveau. Kinderen zijn welkom Kinderstoel en Pack and Play op aanvraag beschikbaar.

  • The plantation received its name because it was the location of Captain John Smith's "New Fort," built in 1609, located directly across the James River from the Jamestown colony. The fort was quickly abandoned due to dry rot and a rat infestation.[4] The same land was later given by Chief Powhatan to John Rolfe as a dowry for the hand of Pocahontas when Rolfe and Pocahontas married. The property is fantastic, pictures do not do it justice. We had 6 adults staying in 4 bedrooms and everyone was very pleased with their bedroom.The property was well stocked with kitchen essentials, even disposable products (we used up the aluminum foil so we replaced it).The views of the river from were great, even inside the house.We are very thankful to Rene for making this property available. We look forward to staying there again.

It was a beautiful home with lots of space and outstanding views. We could watch the tide come in and the ducks and vultures - who are very entertaining! Everything was very clean. I was disappointed that the gas fireplace didnโ€™t work, but we were so tired when coming back from Williamsburg that we hardly noticed! We will be back! Thank you for everything!

The home is spacious & well maintained. Beds and living room furniture are very comfortable. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen had plenty of dishes & other equipment. The only complaint is most of the windows/doors in the living/ kitchen area dont have shades. The morning sun is blinding in that space. The view is amazing though! My sisters & I all agreed this was our favorite VRBO ever! Oh, & Rene was great to work with.

We booked this property for our annual siblings trip and it did not disappoint! It backs up to the James River, and is very relaxing to sit on the deck or patio and watch the birds, and fish jumping out of the water. There were three couples and each of us basically had a floor to ourselves. The lower level is a small apartment, so that was an added bonus. The house is very well appointed, and has everything you would need for a family or group getaway. While there is not a ton of stuff to do in Surry, Williamsburg is just a ferry ride away (we all enjoyed that). I did not have the need to communicate with the owner much during our stay, but she was extremely responsive with the couple of questions I had, leading up to it. I would highly recommend this property! It truly was wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay! The house is gorgeous and we loved spending our evenings on and along the river. There was lots of space for our group of 8 to have their own rooms and bathrooms. Using the ferry (which was only 5 minutes away) to get across to Jamestown and Williamsburg was easy and greatly enjoyed by my children. We hope to stay here again in the future!

EXCELLENT LOCATION

This is the second year we have stayed here. Superb views over the James river. Quiet location. Very near Scotland Jamestown ferry. Free and one of the US best trips.There were only 3 of us so the house was spacious and we had a bathroom each. All the facilities you need , Good wifi and Tubi TV. Overall excellent

Perfect Place!

We stayed here for spring break with our extended family. Everyone loved it! The views of the James River are wonderful. We saw a bald eagle fly over with a fish in its talons while we were sitting on the couch in the living room! Everyone had their own space but we could all hang out together in the common areas. The ferry is literally around the corner and getting over to Jamestown, Williamsburg, or Busch Gardens is easy peasy. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate most of our meals there. She also provides plenty of dish, laundry, and hand soap. This is such a gem of a place for a very reasonable price! Would stay here again in a heartbeat if Iโ€™m ever back in this area.

Fantastic experience

The house is ideally situated on the James River, with beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The layout of the house itself is perfect for gathering for meals and games, as well as for individuals to retreat for quiet time. The kitchen is well-stocked, with no gaps in supplies. And the homeowner is incredibly thoughtful and responsive, including dealing perfectly with the ups-and-downs of some weather issues. We are looking forward to many future stays at this property! Quick Getaway

The property was just as pictured. It was four of us and so spacious that we did not use an entire floor. The surrounding was pretty and peaceful. There was not any close shopping including grocery stores so stop before you arrive. However, we enjoyed the ferry ride across the river! We will definitely like to return when it gets warmer.

A Place That Restores The Soul

A fantastic place to stay

Our family has stayed at a number of VRBO's in this general price range, and we were fairly pleased with each of them. This one was a step above the others. Everything was exactly as advertised. The house is big and as nice as the pictures indicate. Everything was well-maintained and very clean. The surrounding area is beautiful. There were no surprises. Everything that you would expect to work, worked great. Communication was prompt and very clear. The nearby ferry is very well run and makes it easy to get to nearby Jamestown and Williamsburg. What most impressed us was all the attention to the little details. Both kitchens had everything we needed to prepare and serve all meals (except the actual food), and also to clean up. The mattresses in each room were very comfortable, and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets available. The deck furniture was all clean and free of cobwebs. We didn't spend any time cleaning anything (except for what we used), looking for any basics, or trying to get something to work. It was a great stay and well worth the cost. We will try to stay here again the next time we are near Williamsburg.

Lovely home right on the James River. Our family saw bald eagles, herons, osprey and even a dolphin in the water. Binoculars provided were great to have to see all the surrounding wildlife. Conveniently located close to the ferry to go to Jamestown and Williamsburg.

Picturesque Perfection

We wanted a quiet location that was more locals than tourists, but still close to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The location was perfect for fishing and kayaking, while only a 20 min ferry ride into Williamsburg. The house was big enough to accommodate 3 families with plenty of private and shared space. The house is quiet yet close enough to shopping, site seeing and historical attractions. Would definitely recommend.
