'The hotel room was clean. I asked for the eco service but still didn’t receive towels. At check-in I felt very rushed. As I was entering my information, I was asked for my passport, then in reaching for my passport they wanted me typing my information. Three front desk staff talking and explaining while checking in. Difficult getting a taxi. Anytime I went to the desk I was treated like I was bothering them. After traveling throughout Japan, this is not the hospitality of other top Japanese...

'The location was perfect, right within the walk to the Zenkoji Temple. Quiet at night, we had a beautiful view from our large traditional room with tatami mats and futons. The breakfast was out of this world, Japanese style with 7-8 small dishes, all of them delicious, and served in a lovely traditional breakfast room. Service was outstanding at desk and at breakfasts. Highly recommend this ryokan!'

'This was a pretty cool stay. It really feels like your at a traditional style Japanese Inn! We did both of the private onsens and they were awesome; One option is a wooden bath and the other is a stone bath, both options have an indoor and outdoor bath. It rained on our visit to the outdoor stone bath and it was a great experience, they supply hats for the rain too if you want. We also did the breakfast and dinners. You get a lot of food for both, so make sure you're hungry, the food is pretty...

'What a fantastic place to stay. Convenient location from the train station And easy acces to snowmonkey parc. The food was amazing And the service level as well. They have an amazing bar on the roof. You sit with -15 in heated plastic iglo tents zipping from your drinks. The onsen Spa is big on the upperfloor overlooking Yudanaka And the mountains. The Room is huge. So wonderful stay And highly recommended.'

'The on site Onsen natural baths, being able to choose either a private Onsen or alternative public baths, in the hotel. The private baths meant we could have the bath space to ourselves and wear a cosi! We were provided lovely fresh linen traditional robes, towels and footwear, fantastic traditional experience staying in this traditional Japanese accommodation, family run, with everyone being super helpful and friendly. 'It’s was my first stay at a traditional ryokan. The service was above my expectations! The staff were all so very kind and helpful. My favorite part was all the traditional Japanese cuisine. I ate so many wonderful dishes that I would not have otherwise. The waters for this onsen are quite hot so be sure to mix cold water until you find a suitable temperature.'

'While this is an older hotel, it is clean, things are in working order, and rather charming and unique. For example, I had a large room with a small patio that offered a beautiful view of the city. It’s in a quaint quiet town with gorgeous views of the mountains surrounding the town. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of hot green tea.
