'Really enjoyable stay in a nice setting, pity about the weather. Fair warning there are some works going on on the property grounds making it a bit more unsightly but nothing can be done about that. Overall great. Thank you.'

'Week away at this superb lodge. Excellent views and fantastic getaway location. Not too far from lovely scenic walks but far enough to feel away from it all Lodge had everything we needed and more. It was just a shame we didn't get chance to make use of the barbecue Bassenthwaite Lake Station a must do, the breakfast on the static train carriage is amazing. Buttermere lake very special place'

'Loved our stay. Our first family trip away with our 10 week old baby and even she loved it. We had everything we needed at our finger tips. The only slight downfall was the Wi-Fi connection. It was quite hard to connect to and very slow. Being in an area with poor reception for data, the Wi-Fi was definitely needed but we both struggled to get any use out of it. Amazing place though, would recommend. '

'Garden Cottage was een mooi klein huisje waarin je je snel thuis voelde. Van daaruit konden we makkelijk de meeste hoogtepunten van het Lake District verkennen. Colin was een zeer behulpzame, fijne gastheer.'

'Thank you for making me feel so welcomed, all the tips, like the train to Edinburgh, and little suprise gifts at the cottage. The cottage is really beautiful. Even tough the weather wasn't always on my side, it really enjoyed my week here and hope to come back again.'

'The accommodation offered value for money in a great location within easy driving distance of Keswick. If we were to be critical we would say that the stairs are tricky if even for the most able bodied particularly at night time. The bed is a small double and extremely soft therefore if sharing with another person you both end up in the middle. The low ceiling is once again tricky particularly if you are tall and despite many customer comments about the shower it does not stay in place and...

'Perfect location. Enjoyed my walks to the friendly village pub the sun inn where I was made to feel very welcome as a single traveller. Coffee and Tea facilities but no milk. Tidy clean and Matthew even lent me a uk charger. I left mine in Australia.'

"Een zeer charmant hotel in typische UK-stijl. Alles was top! Ik kan dit hotel zeker aanbevelen. Ook een ideaal hotel voor mensen die hun hond graag mee op vakantie nemen. En een ideale plaats als vertrekpunt voor tal van wandelingen. Enige minpuntje is dat er geen airco op de kamer is. Maar dat is in de meeste manors niet te vinden. 😉 Dus enkel bij zeer tropische temperaturen zou ik een andere locatie zoeken. "
