Strandhotels in White Mountains

'The hotel is currently being renovated, so the corridor with the elevator is a construction site. Our room had not yet been renovated and made a dated impression. But all necessary facilities were present and working. Nice and helpful staff, especially the cleaners. Of the 5 hotels during our trip through New England, this was the least good.'

'Attractive room, very quiet. Never saw a member of staff the entire stay. No one there to check in or out. Called and emailed about an issue, very slow to respond. Amenities , like ice, only available from the nonexistent staff. Would not recommend.'

'Breakfast was fine. Our bathtub had a big area of dried soggy soap residue on the ledge. So I imagine the tub wasn’t cleaned. Never saw the pool. The stairs to the second level in our room was VERY steep. The bed setup was great otherwise to sleep 6. Check out was 10am and our child had a competition until 11am so that was very inconvenient. $75 per hour for late check out. No thanks. I don’t know why they have such an early checkout. We were going to have lunch at their restaurant before...

'Don't expect more than basic accommodations. It was clean, the linens and bedding were adequate, there was heat, fresh soap, a small closet, coffee maker & packaged coffee/creamers. There's a small cube fridge & tv, no microwave. The toilet fill valve ran continuously so we had to manually turn off water once the water closet filled. Hot water was slow to arrive. The decor and finishes are very dated but not dilapidated. The clothes dresser drawers do not have glides so they do not open/close...

'My husband and I had a wonderful ski weekend at this cozy little cabin. The kitchen was well supplied, and we enjoyed preparing breakfast and dinner there. The living room was comfortable, and we spent our evenings relaxing in front of the gas fireplace. The host was pleasant and quick to respond to questions. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we plan to return!'
