Picture a bright, luxurious and comfortable houseboat with a huge deck. Now picture yourself on it. Surrounded by glistening water, gently swaying in your hammock al fresco, rewinding after a day in the hustle & bustle of the city. Feels pretty amazing, huh?
Moored on Java Island, the top floor of our boat (note: downstairs is inhabited) provides the perfect setting to explore and relax. Watch the sunrise on your left and set on your right, enjoy the glorious harbour views, the sun deck, the BBQ, the books, the good coffee, the private sauna or just the whole houseboat experience. You can even join the locals for a refreshing swim in the IJ river.
Our redesigned steering cabin (35m2) on the top floor - where you'll be staying - is your ultimate ship experience in Amsterdam. Featuring a bathroom, an open space bedroom with a queen size bed, and a bright living room surrounded by windows. The stunning sun deck offers yet another space to enjoy the almost 360° harbour view and is ideal for relaxation and having a BBQ. The kitchenette is equipped for preparing light meals (note: no stove). There are different appliances available like an oven/microwave/kettle/toaster/egg-cooker/Nespresso-machine/mini-fridge.
Tea and coffee can be filled up on request. If your stay exceeds 3 days, extra towels will be provided and there are hammam towels at hand for using the sauna. The independent B&B upstairs is private and the ideal retreat for 1 or 2 guests (not more). You have your own entrance and you will be our only guest. Note: downstairs is in use.
Whether you need a helping hand, like to have a chat or prefer your own company, it’s all fine with us. The B&B upstairs has been up and running for a few years now, and we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world. Avid travellers, boat enthusiasts, architects & designers, coaching experts and entrepreneurs. We just love having you around!
Read the reviews or even better, come find out for yourself. We can’t wait to welcome you onboard and make your stay a truly memorable one.
As is typical on ships in general it should be said that not all the areas of the Somoya are standard height* which is why the studio may not be suitable for very tall people!
*2.10m in the middle
Dreamship Somoya officially complies with all the rules for a B&B on a ship in Amsterdam.
