Lodges in Belize

'The setting in the mountains is beautiful, and the place has a fun, rustic atmosphere. However, there were several disappointments during our stay. The listing advertises air conditioning, but it’s important to understand that the rooms are screened in, so the AC does not cool the entire room. You can only really feel it when you’re lying in bed with the curtains closed. Also, the air blows directly onto your face, and there’s no way to adjust the airflow. I actually had to sleep with my head...

'We had a wonderful experience at the black rock lodge, the staff is amazing and you can feel how passionate they are about their work. The Tikal visit is a must. We had an amazing day on site with our guide Noel, we learnt so much about Mayan history and jungle fauna. We did also the hike to the summit and the night walk with the guide. Both great. Ask for a visit of the gardens, they are growing their own vegetables and fruits for the restaurant, the gardeners are lovely people. Finally the...

'This is the most amazing place I've stayed at. The ENTIRE staff was terrific from begging to end. My wife had the best massage she's ever had. The food was great and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. If I could give more stars I would. Be ready to unplug from the world and enjoy your surroundings. So much to do and see. I will be recommending this property to everyone one I know. My wife and I were making plans to come back before we even left.'

'Copal Tree is an amazing place. Nestled on top of a hill in the heart of the rainforest Rooms are very private and they have screened balconies that place you in the heart of the rainforest. Staff are so friendly and helpful. So many activities. Did a birding class in the morning and saw keelbilled toucans and collated aracaris steps from our room. Would definitely come back for a return trip.'

'Friendly and helpful staff. Very relaxing and quiet. '

'Authentic Jungle Experience The Art and artifacts from the area are one of a kind must see.'

'The whole place was amazing! The cabins were bare bones but clean and cute. We had a porch in the back right by the rainforest, but wished there had been comfy chairs to sit on instead of a small, hard bench. The bathrooms were clean with some interesting insect life to observe while sitting there. Showers were hot and good pressure. The Toucan Cafe up front was superb - we ate every meal there. There is comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Fridge and coffee maker are available for guests....

'Great for camping and outdoors experience, had a nice horse ride with guild. Lady staff was pushy and difficult. Kind of a acquired taste.'
