'Great parking area. Great social areas. Plenty of space. The gas grill wouldn’t stay lit but there was a charcoal grill handy. The house was quite dusty in areas not hit by the cleaner (maybe rushed?) and porch has to be cleaned before using. That didn’t diminish the great time we had at this property. '

'Wonderful location! House was perfect for the size of our family! The home was well maintained, clean and had everything needed for cooking for a large group. Our family, particularly the young ones enjoyed the ping pong and foosball tables and cornhole. We would definitely rebook when back in the area. '

'Four generations from five states. Ages ranged from 6 to 95. Everyone loved it. It was spotless, the kitchen especially well stocked and the beds really comfortable. Host communication was excellent. Everyone had a great time, from the youngest to the oldest and everyone in between. One note for the host would be to replace the worn out grill.'

'The place was amazing and clean. The view from the patio is just like the photos. One thing we had to get used to was no curtains on any of the windows. Also I was super excited for the patio couch set that’s in the photo but it wasn’t there when we arrived unfortunately. BUT everything was so beautiful and amazing we didn’t mind. '

'The house and property were amazing. We had a great time even though it was just for a weekend. We toured App State and had a wonderful time at the house. It accommodated 12 of us perfectly and we would highly recommend anyone to reserve the property. The views are spectacular! The management company responded quickly to all of our questions. 'It's not easy to find lodging for our large family all under one roof. This house is perfectly suited for all of us. The kitchen is well-stocked, the view is phenomenal (especially the sunrise), with plenty of amenities for everyone: tennis, pickle ball, fire pit, hot tub, theater, horses and woods nearby, and a piano. Plenty of sleeping berths, too! Management is very responsive. Great experience!'

'Perfect location and views. Great proximity to Beech Mtn. Plenty of space. However, property furnishings were extremely worn and needed to be thrown out. Pillows in tatters, couches and chairs were gross. Coffeemakers were all broken. This property definitely needs a makeover. If that bothers you, you’ll want to stay somewhere else.'

'The house is beautiful! We had a great stay and would stay again, but probably not in winter. The driveway is very steep and when we were there it was covered in thick ice as were the porch and steps leading into the house. We had 4 wheel drive and still had difficulty driving up. I also slipped and fell more than once on the ice, The heat in the downstairs bedroom was not working, someone came to check it and left us space heaters which did keep it warm.'

'This is our second time staying at this property. We enjoyed the quietness of the area. This cabin is perfect for our family of four. Very well equipped and communication with the host is fantastic. Hopefully we will be back again! '

Pleasant MCM motel

"One night stay here after staying at their sister hotel in Raleigh. The property itself is fine but no atmosphere compared to Raleigh. Easy parking, clean and comfortable room. Not much to do within walking distance, except a burger takeaway. We tried to walk to a nearby microbrewery. It should've been a 5 minute walk, but we found it impossible to cross the 6-lane highway in front of the motel so gave up and went back to our room. Maybe, as Europeans, we're not used to the American way of driving everywhere, but to visit a brewery, walking would seem a safer option. Pleasant enough motel but not sure we'd return."

"Breakfastroom was small and very warm. Toilet in our room does not flush properly. Furthermore, the staff was friendly and we had a clean room. Location was good, near the Blue Ridge Parkway. "
