'What a special place! Close to everything but tucked away at the end of a private road. The view is beautiful and it’s a very private and peaceful setting. Our dogs loved it and we really appreciate the gates around the deck for them. And the addition of fall mums around the property was such a nice touch! Chris the host couldn’t have been nicer. Would absolutely stay here again!'

'We have stayed at the Hobby Horse several times and with each visit, it feels more like our "second home." The cottage is always clean, comfortable and has everything you need in the kitchen. The town of Surry provides a perfect base camp location to enjoy surroundings from Acadia National Park, Ellsworth, Blue Hill and Belfast. This year we attended the Blue Hill Fair and it did not disappoint. A few consistent highlights for us include: Perry's Lobster Company, Pugnuts, Fogtown Brewery...

'We had a great time in this off grid cabin. It was a beautiful location in a really lovely wood cottage. Our favorite part was just relaxing on the screened in porch listening to the loons in the evening. It got a little hot during our stay, so the limited electricity for a fan was a bummer but not a dealbreaker by any means. Would definitely recommend. '
