'If your goal is to get away from the beach crowds and experience nature, this well kept home on the bay is a wonderful spot to experience moments like beautiful sunsets and gazing at the Milky Way. With the entrance to Alligator River Wildlife Refuge just a few miles down the road, you'll have the chance to see some cool things. 'I had a week in between jobs and wanted to get away from everything for a week. My wife and I chose Ocracoke. The communication and check in process were fantastic. Very clear and timely instructions. The description is accurate and the location is unbeatable. You can leave your car there and walk to anywhere you want. No more than a 1/2 mile walk to anywhere in the village you want. Only 20 minutes from the Hatteras ferry as well. The coffee/ice cream shop on the base level was closed...
