The neighbourhood is dirty and not very attractive though close enough to the more popular areas in downtown. The rooms were beautiful and all aspects of the hotel and dining/ bar spaces were gorgeous and full of character. We enjoyed The Portrait Bar a couple of times and had such fun. We also had breakfast in the restaurant and a spectacular dinner at Cafe Carmellini. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was top notch.

"I had a very unpleasant stay at this hotel. The room had a wooden lattice ceiling, which meant I could hear everything from the neighboring room—including my neighbor snoring all night. It was extremely noisy and lacked privacy.
There was only one women’s toilet for the entire floor.
The room was also extremely cold. The only blanket provided was thin, and there was no proper duvet. I spent the entire night freezing. To make matters worse, the emergency door/window was left open."
