'Yes, the room was clean but in the hallway there was a terrible smell close to a specific room; it was a smell of decomposing trash. We stayed from April 28th thru May 9th.'

'The Glen Club is always my go to hotel when staying near Chicago. I love its more private location because it feels like a quiet retreat away from the city. Every time we have stayed there it has been peaceful, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. With only 21 rooms, the boutique atmosphere makes it feel even more exclusive and relaxing. The hotel is consistently spotless, beautifully updated, and very well maintained, and the onsite restaurant is excellent. The only things I would love to see...

'We had stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it was incredibly worn and the service was poor at best-and I swore I would never go back. I learned they had updated the hotel -so I figured I would give it another chance- as there are so few options in Evanston during parents weekend etc. Unfortunately, it was just like putting lipstick on a pig- maybe they painted and got new bedding but it is still old and dilapidated - the bathrooms are yucky.
