'Econolodge is a budget hotel (in spite of the 150 pn) and the rooms were clean, sufficient towels. The householdstaff was friendly, the bathroom clean. There was a microwave and a fridge. We were very satisfied in spite of the noise of the ac which we switched off. At a ten minutes walk there is a good Stop n Shop'

'There were 2 hispanic women working the free breakfast. They were both extremely helpful to the guests and i observed them go out of their way on several occasions taking extra care of the guests. Additionally the breakfast area was always very clean, well stocked and these ladies did an excellent job. The cleaning staff were consistently friendly saying hello and asking if we needed anything. These employees made our vacation more enjoyable. We will be returning to this hotel'

'The room was smelling very badly. As if it was sprayed with some insecticides or poison. I contacted the receptionist and requested a different room. He demanded an extra 20 dollar because the room on the higher floor had a better view. It was the opposite of the reviews we had read. We are disappointed in this property. It is also far from many New York’s iconic tourist sites. That is our bad the we didn’t study the map before booking.'

'The room had a smell that was inescapable every time you walked into it. It wasn’t horrible horrible but it was there and it wasn’t pleasant. They charge ridiculous prices on snacks and beverages at the front desk… to a punishing level for not getting in your car and going a couple blocks to the convenient store. Lastly, there is a parking fee that was never made apparent. Felt like a gotcha on the way out. $15/day. Not super high but still not something you want to discover on checkout.'
