'A beautiful stay. We had flights canceled and had to find accommodation, we were so happy to have stayed here the staff made everything so easy and relaxing for us. Melch, Hennessy, and Bj in particular, nothing was a problem. The managers were checking in throughout our stay to make sure all was ok. The facilities are great, it’s clean and the food is very good definitely do the breakfast here.

Dip Nikkei was the only disappointment.
I had the Crab Causa, which was over powered by mayo and sauce. Ceviche and Nigiri was good but had hoped for more. Matcha cheesecake was a little dry and overdone.
I also had the Pork Bao at the pool the following day and again it was overly sauced. Felt like some work and refinement needed.

'My only other point of reference was the costabella in the area last year. I love the pool outside of my room and the beauty of the the bay or shallow ocean outside. I’d probably buy some plastic jacks which are more comfortable to sit in. The restaurant food was great and the juices were great and the pool was nice. I liked it a bit better than costabella the year before '

'Excellent! Beautiful location, quiet en friendly staff. The food was delicious. We went to this resort last February (2019), to vist our family in Tagbilaran for the first time. The staff was so friendly, we hadn't met friendly staff like they was before. We visited the Islands on the east side of the Mactan Island by boatrip. We also went to the Panglao Island by ferry from Cebu, keep in mind that i will take a half day to come there. Outside the resort was a lot of traffic and real Philippines...

'Maribago hotel is well maintained, spacious resort, nicely located in Cebu with helpful and utmost friendly staff. The daily programs were quite entertaining like traditional performances and bands. However there were also some negative points: the beach is man-made ( like an artificial bay), while judging from the pictures we were expecting a real beach. The prices they charged in the restaurant were relatively high even for european standards.'

One point of attention - when the staff orders a taxi, they automatically order a luxury taxi which is double as expensive as a white taxi. As you need to pay taxis with cash, this can lead to a negative surprise when you are low on cash (for me, on my trip to the airport going back)'

"No hot water in their so called Spa villa and electricity shortcuts. Very loud and old AC. Bad food in the restaurant. Housekeeping came at 6pm. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Big construction around the hotel.
Hotel manager was very apologizing and admitted their mistake in putting us in a villa that was not supposed to be rented. We've agreed on a partial refund that never got approved after we've checked out. Hotels.com were no help in solving this issue! "
