'This little gem was a great place for us to relax. Our room was steps away from the ocean . We could hear the waves crashing against the rocks and feel the ocean breeze. Not a big or fancy place. There is no ac or tv in rooms, but we didn't need it. We watched the beautiful sunset from the pool area. Needs a bit of updating. There was some bubbled and peeling paint in the bathroom. Our stay was only one night in this small quaint place, but we enjoyed our time there.'

'Staff members gave my family and I excellent customer service! The morning continental breakfast was just ok. The overall quality was great for convenience and centralization of the property for the nearby shopping and dining. The only thing was we couldn’t stay longer for our short visit. '
'the Dragonfly Ranch is an awesome place, well decorated in alternative style, and very clean. I personally clicked very well with the people working there. They serve dinner and breakfast straight from the organic garden and have great cooks. The bed sheets are smooth and comfortable and one of the best snorkeling bays of the big island (two steps) is about a mile away. They also have snorkeling gear. It still feels like i made friends with the people working there. RECOMMENDED'

"In general the property was quite nice. Rooms are spacious if somewhat run down (they were doing some renovations though so that might be solved soon). It is in a nice location by the ocean and the bar/restaurant was very enjoyable with good staff. The pool is somewhat small but acceptable, the private lagoon somewhat makes up for this though (it is also a great place to try out your snorkel before going into the ocean).
The hotel is within walking distance of the town which is useful for finding food, drinks and other small shopping.
Main issue we had was that the big trucks driving past can be quite loud if you are on that side of the hotel. The AC was also very loud and right above the bed, it also turned on and off every few minutes throughout the night so if you are sensitive to sound this might be nice to know.
In general I would recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal on the price. It is quite nice for a 3* hotel.
