'Our stay was pleasant although I wondered how often they rotate the beds since the mattress seemed uncomfortable for my husband and I. The lady front desk said they do.'

'We loved Shutters on the Banks and will stay there again when in the area. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in giving us information about the area. The room was comfortable with beautiful decor. Breakfast was very good and the dining area very well-done and comfortable. The balcony right off our room allowed us to drink our morning coffee while watching the sun-rise. We then took a walk to the beach, then enjoyed the hot-tub and pool. Great location with access to popular sites. '

If you know anything about having trouble sleeping, then this hotel will be difficult for you if your bedroom is located near a hallway window. 'Colonial Inn is always a launching point for our OBX trip. They are affordable and convenient for a Friday night stay on the way further south for a following week. We appreciate that they don’t require a 2 night stay and use them regularly as a result.'

'The property was right on the beach/sand dunes. There is a set of stairs and a ramp over the Dune from the parking lot. We had a ocean front room with balcony that was very enjoyable. The room was spacious with comfortable beds, full bank of windows facing the Ocean and nice bathroom. Breakfast was a treat every morning with fresh brewed coffee and a hot or cold breakfast; In tidy surroundings. Hotel is centrally located for restaurants, sites and fun. Ample parking. 'My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.'

'This is our second year staying at this hotel. It’s super clean, the staff is very friendly, the beds are comfortable, great water pressure in the shower also. The indoor pool is a great amenity! We will totally be back!'

'They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.'

'Blue Heron's staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Love that you are only one to enter room when there. If need supplies,simply go to office and get them. Love the no key entry. Receive a code and no worries about loosing the key. Room was updated to make it look nice. Price was very reasonable.Will definitely come back again.'
