'When we checked in, way past check in time, the room was uncleaned from the previous inhabitants. We were changed to a different room. The shower was hot but no pressure and there was black mold at the edge of the bathroom ceiling. The smells from cleaning products were overwhelming making it hard to breath. We started sneezing as soon as we entered the room due to mold. Ice machine had the need to be cleaned light on the entire time we were there (3days) causing us to have to buy ice. We were...

'Great property. Very clean. Helpful staff. Cons - we were traveling with a dog. Asked about dog-friendly restaurants. Staff not helpful. Sent us to two restaurants that were not dog friendly. Maybe create an up-to-date list of dog friendly restaurants. River Trail Beer works was great! Very accommodating. Pesticides were sprayed on property without prior communication. Not a great idea when you are traveling with a dog. A separate area should have been mainlined without the pesticide for dog....

'The location was nice for what we needed it for. The check in/out was easy. The bed, mattress and pillow need to be replaced. Everything else was good.'

'This hotel with a history offers great surroundings near Saranac lake, spacious, modern and clean family rooms, and friendly staff for a reasonable price. During our 3 week trip in July through north east of USA and Canada we planned to stay here for 2 nights but decided to stay an extra night. We were very lucky with the weather ( 75 -82 F) but heard the winter period lasts long and is tough.'

'Exactly what we wanted and expected. Simple and nice. It wasn't fancy but had everything we needed. Nice that that have the extra area for dishes, cleaning heating up things etc.'
