We were unfortunately very disappointed with our stay. This was a special birthday weekend and the room we booked as advertised was not what we received at all. We were supposed to have a beautiful room with a canal view but instead were put in a ground floor room with frosted windows so you could not see the canal. The room had an unpleasant odour and was dusty. The bathroom was outdated. The staff were excellent and accommodating when we told them this is not what we booked. We took another smaller room with no canal view, and we received a free breakfast. Unfortunately, it didn't make up for the disappointment, because we still didn't have what we had actually paid for. This room at least had a better smell but it was dusty and the shower was old and rusty. My advice is phone in advance to make sure the room you book actually matches how it is advertised on the website. I think this hotel is in need of a revamp: old, outdated carpets and bathrooms, and in general the hotel needs a good dust and vacuum.
