'We had an amazing stay, the Old Vine is a beautiful historic building in central Winchester. The room was comfortable and immaculate, the bed was comfortable and the bedding and pillows were great, thebathroom was large and very clean. We had breakfast in our room which was delicious and hot and plentiful. All the staff were great and very attentive.'

'The proprietor is a very friendly gent. The property is basically a private home with two rooms (I think) for visitors and two parking spaces...perfect!. The room was comfortable, clean, and very quiet. There was a generous "continental" breakfast (though the term "continental" understate the extraordinarily generous tray delivered to one's room). The property is about a mile from the lovely town center and the cathedral. A comfortable walk if you are capable of walking.'

'the room was very clean and spacious, lovely rain shower. check in was easy in the restaurant below and the staff were really helpful. there is a separate door for guests in the rooms so you can let yourself in at any time of day/night. a small outdoor space. car park very close by and reasonably priced. no charge on Sunday. very convenient for walking into town. would definitely stat again if i return to Winchester, which is a fabulous historic town'

'Staff were friendly throughout. Hotel was clean, well decorated and comfortable. The spa was fabulous and a welcome addition after a day of walking in Winchester. This is likely more of a personal request but since they have communal changing areas, bigger towels for those guests that just can't quite fit normal towels would be an appreciated addition - it's the little things! '

'The property was basic, as expected, but the host's behavior was shockingly unprofessional and erratic. After honestly correcting a simple booking mistake (one guest instead of two) and promptly offering payment, the host initially seemed polite but slow to respond.
Things turned serious when I accidentally locked myself out of the bedroom—without shoes or phone—and urgently contacted him via my smartwatch. He claimed he'd arrive in an hour but vanished for hours, ignoring multiple calls....
