'This is hands down my wife and my "go-to" hotel in Portland. We live in Portland, have stayed there well over 4 times. We ABSOLUTELY Love the Suite and it is worth the money. We love the vintage look and feel and the beds are extremely comfortable which is important because my wife has severe chronic back pain. 'The front desk at check in was friendly but he almost forgot to give us our key card and when we asked for pillows to be sent up it didn't show up and we had to call the next day to ask again '

'I love historic older buildings! The suite we paid for was more spacious than the photos showed. There were a few things about the cleanliness of the room like there was toothpaste on the wall and mirror from previous guests and also what looked like rubber glue. Also previous guests left sticky pancake syrup on one of the chairs when I sat down. Warm water got it right out of the chair with no staining but my pants were an issue. 'The room here was very nice and clean and we liked being able to sit in the beautiful library section of the lobby while doing some computer work during our stay. The parking garage was also conveniently located and there were lots of options for cute coffee shops nearby. '

'Prachtig hotel, voor de prijs echt te kleune kamers. Goede service:eerst een kamer aan achterkant met uitzicht op muur op 0,5m afstand werd direct omgeruild voor betere kamer. Gratis goede fietsen te leen. Maaltijden in restaurant vielen heel erg tegen ,weinig voor heel veel geld. Ga lekker in de stad eten !!! Leuke rooftopbar met wèl lekkere hapjes! Super vriendelijk en geinteresseerd personeel!'

'The room is as very small, but nice. The walls are thin. The room next to us had music playing all night and it kept me up all night. The table in the room had water rings in it, making the room look unkempt. The bathroom is big and nice. The staff was lovely. Walkable to everything. '

'The hotel was super nice! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. For my wife and I, the Grand Stark has supplanted another 'hip' hotel in Portland (on Stark across the water in the Pearl) as our go-to when we visit Portland. We love that we can walk to excellent restaurants, bars, and music venues from the Grand Stark. An on-site restaurant/bar is a must, and the Little Bitter Bar (serves food from the Grand Amari) was perfect. We will definitely be back.'
