I recently stayed at Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa with two friends. While we were looking forward to an enjoyable all-inclusive experience, our stay was unfortunately impacted by significant health concerns and an unsatisfactory response from management.
During our visit, two out of the three guests in our group became seriously ill after dining at the resort’s Mexican restaurant. Symptoms included vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, chills, and abdominal pain. The illness was severe enough to disrupt our vacation and required extended time resting in our rooms.
Equally concerning was the way the situation was handled by resort management. When we attempted to file a formal complaint, managers were uncooperative and hesitant to provide the appropriate complaint forms. The lack of transparency and professionalism during this process was disappointing and did not reflect the level of guest care expected from a resort of this caliber.
Food safety and responsive guest service are fundamental expectations, particularly at an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Unfortunately, due to the health risks experienced and the way our concerns were addressed, I cannot confidently recommend this property.
Future guests may wish to exercise caution when dining on-site.
