Food and variety was excellent, better than most other similar resorts I’ve experienced, and definitely the highlight of the trip for me. We particularly liked the seafood, Indian, and French. The room was larger than expected and we enjoyed the tub and large shower. The pool was quite cold this time of year, and though one area was heated, it did not ever seem to reach a comfortable temperature, so we did not spend much time in the water unfortunately. We sought out the hot tub areas but those were not too much warmer. The drinks by the pool were quite watered down which got old by the second day. Otherwise the drinks at other locations were much better so we usually sought these out in the afternoons and evenings, particularly the martini bar before dinner. I appreciated the custom drink menu at each bar, and enjoyed trying out different drinks at each. We were quite disappointed with the quality of the drinks at the coffee shop in particular, as we are big coffee drinkers, though we did still keep going back and trying new options each day and appreciated the coffee shop staff. The resort staff were a pleasure universally and I thought they struck a good balance between professional and friendly—they seemed well engaged and attentive to guest needs but I didn’t experience any forced / inauthentic social exchanges that are sometimes the norm at other resorts.
