This was our second stay at Hotel Xcaret Arte. Our first visit was exceptional, our butlers were attentive and proactive. We were genuinely impressed, tipped generously and left with wonderful memories.
Unfortunately, this visit was a different experience. While we appreciated the small “Happy Honeymoon” and chocolate heart, the overall service felt diminished. We often had to make several requests, and it seemed that extra prompting was needed to receive the same attention as before. Even at checkout, we were told to locate a bellboy on our own, which was disappointing given the resort’s usual standards.
Our room was cleaned daily, but overall hospitality and attention to detail fell short. We were only acknowledged for our honeymoon with a dessert at Tah-Xido and Xaak, although other staff asked about our celebration, no gestures followed.
Dining was also inconsistent. Arenal, Sunday Brunch at Las Cuevas, and San Juan Mercado lacked freshness and flavor. While staying in the Artistas building gave us access to more options, dishes at Mexico 1 & 2 were not freshly prepared. The tacos near the club were the only highlight outside of Kibi Kibi, where we ate daily for the remainder of our stay due to the good food and service.
Multiple calls from the timeshare team throughout the morning. While the property remains beautiful, the service and food quality no longer reflect the exceptional standards that once made this resort so special. Regrettably, we will not be returning.
