'This is a former Marriott property, and has really nice room design, even though some of it is a bit worn, dated, or tired. I was never willing to pay the rate when it was a Marriott, so this is a good compromise. Everything was good, nothing was actually terrible, and the price was good. Will stay again.'

'Good establishment'

'Very run down which I normally don't mind but this hotel had a chain link fence around half of it and a musty/moldy smell permeated the rooms. We booked it because it has a hot tub, which was broken. There were no sign indicating it was broken or being repaired but it was colder than the pool! .'

'Upon check-in, I noticed a couple of towels that had black stains on them as well as a couple of stains on the bath tub. However, after voicing the complaint to the front desk, the young Hispanic (maybe) lady that was at the front was able to resolve that issues within seconds! It was amazing how fast I was able to get new linen since normally that takes about 24hrs. She was a blessing. I’m mostly impressed with that interaction over any thing else. 'Hilton Paper Valley has been our home away from home since our Lawrence student started the college journey a few years ago. We love it! The staff, the breakfast buffet, the rooms, the views, the location, Lombardi's, short walk to Lawrence, nearby parks, parades and farmers' markets! We will miss our several times a year trips to Appleton and our stays at the Hilton Paper Valley.
