'Fijne uitvalsbasis aan de rand van het dorp. Grote supermarkten en fastfoodketens als buren. Je bent zo op het strand of binnen 25 minuten op de boot Harwich - Hoek van Holland. Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Ruime kamers, prima bad en docuhe.'

'Hotel ligt langs de snelweg maar we hoorden daar op de kamer niets van. Genoeg parkeerplaatsen schijnwerpers. Parkeren is gratis als je member wordt, dat membership is ook gratis. De kamer was goed, het bed een beetje smal. De badkamer ruim genoeg en netjes. Kortom een goede keus als je op doorreis bent. Het ontbijt zit bij de prijs inbegrepen en was beperkt qua keus. '

'The rooms. at the Essex Golf and Country Club are very nice and super clean. Be aware there is no in-room ac that we could find and just the smallest desk fan in the room but perhaps this is only an issue for 3 weeks a year! We arrived late (9.30pm) and check was smooth, went to the room and unpacked and notice in the room directory suggested the bar was open until 10.30pm. We meander up only to be informed that last orders was at 10pm so we would only be permitted to purchase one drink. Then...

'Long wait at check in. Airco downstairs, but room hot and no airco. Check out time 11.00. But at 10.30 they said we had 10 minutes. Airco unit of downstairs next to room window…. Unbelievable. A lot of noise. Awfull service of front desk. Mostly not occupied and you have to call an outside number with your cell. Best hotel of Colchester. What a Joke. '
