'The owners greeted me on arrival at this lovely guesthouse and showed me to my room. The bed was very comfortable. It is an old building so quirky room sizes but beautifully renovated and maintained. Good shower clean bathroom. Great home cooked breakfast. I would definitely stay again'

I travelled solo 145 miles for a two night break purely because of this. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn the restaurant closed last year. 'The apartment was furnished and decorated to a very high spec with lots of tech gadgets. Cooling fans in all the rooms and plenty of kitchen utensils and appliances of good quality. The bed which was high end with a Tempur mattress was firm. It might suit some guests but for us it was too firm. A few too many air fresheners! We are sorry to say that the sofas weren’t comfy in particular the sofa bed again too firm even though we appreciated they were of a high standard being Italian leather.'

'This wasn't the most comfortable or homely stay I have had at The Bay at Filey. The apartment is very basic and not homely. I would say it is adequate, with basic seating, minimal crockery and dark furnishings, which are a little depressing. It was very clean and tidy. There was no mirror near a socket to use the hairdryer. A strong smell of curry, which after the windows were opened, still stayed unfortunately. There was a lot of flies inside this property.'
