'Warm welcome with lovely staff who never seemed to sleep(!) but always served with a smile. The menu had a good selection of dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed the homemade food which was tasty and generous in portion size. The spiced plum crumble was amazing and we were told they were homegrown plums! The room was lovely and exactly what we wanted. Everything was clean and neat. We loved our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended. '

'My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of December in the Warren room and it was so comfortable! Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice, the homemade granola topped with fruit was the best! Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will return in the summer. " Terrible stay. Upon arrival we had to wait to check in. No greeting, no explanation, just a key handed over by an unfriendly receptionist. Absolutely no sense of hospitality. The room was far from clean: stained bedding, mold in the bathroom, and a damaged wall. The phone didn’t even work, which meant I had to go to reception in the middle of the night when my friend became sick. The staff showed no empathy at all, even laughed at the situation, and said cleaning could only be done the next day. When it finally happened, it was careless and far below any acceptable standard. The spa was completely unusable due to the overwhelming smell of mold. Unhealthy and unsafe for guests. Staff were unfriendly throughout no explanations, no assistance, no interest. At check-out, not even a “How was your stay?” just taking the key and saying “bye.” This property claims to be pet-friendly, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it even for pets. It was dirty, unhealthy, and completely disrespectful to paying guests. In short: this hotel is a disgrace. We demand a partial refund and strongly advise others not to book here. "
