'This is a wonderful old village pub with excellent food, great service and a larger than life Landlord. We stayed one night here, were made very welcome and enjoyed the great choices of dishes for our evening meal before a roaring log fire. The Whitby Scampi and chips followed by traditional 'Spotted Dick and custard was served very quickly and was delicious. The small bar was busy with locals and folk staying at the pub and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Our room was fairly small but...

'toen we aankwamen moesten we direct de kamer betalen. Toen we na het inchekken nog iets wilden drinken moesten we dat ook contant betalen. Het kon niet op de kamer gezet worden. De bedden waren niet goed, de veren waren voelbaar.'

'Stayed here on business and ticket all the right boxes. The room was a bit warm though, despite that the heat had dropped off these last few days. Nice bar area and nice selection of ales. The restaurant was in a real pretty setting. Easy parking in the vicinity of the hotel and they even had parking spaces in front of the rooms which are at the back of the property. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. '
