'A lovely historic property well-located to all of the York sites and walking distance from the rail station. The rooms were large and nicely appointed with most modern conveniences one would need. It’s a lot of steps up and no one to help with bags, so keep that in mind. Had dinner in the pub one night. A bit of a warren of small rooms and some of the staff was not well trained or didn’t understand English well, but the food was hot and tasty.'

'Staff not always present. Strange set up with gate closure and opening. We left with no one there and used code to heave property. Dust bunnies on pipes behind sink.'

'The stay was wonderful and we were treated with personal care. The only negative was that our room needed a little bit of repairs, given that the building is several hundred years old. Everything worked fine, but there were a few creaks in the floor that were in need of attention. The issue was limited to our room. The rest of the building appeared to be in great shape. By the time a reader sees this comment, the issue may have already been taken care of.'

We were hardly in the room anyway, so it did what was needed. The fire alarm went off on the first night, which wasn't a nice wake up call. Luckily it was just someone vaping in their room. The staff were friendly though . I'm was about a 25 minute walk from the station there's a bus also. No 3 heworth cafe was...
