'The Hideaway is a quaint cottage with outstanding cleanliness and amenities. The added touch of snacks waiting for us was so appreciated and welcomed. I also appreciated the flyers of local activities. Communication was excellent and very prompt…an added touch of hospitality. Neighbors were friendly and well accommodating while we were unloading. And York is a lovely city.'

'Voor 2 personen is er genoeg ruimte. Op de foto's was al duidelijk dat er geen lekkere buitenstoelen waren dus hebben we die van onszelf meegenomen. Het is lekker rustig daar, de bewoners die ook op het terrein wonen drongen zich absoluut niet op. Je hebt er dus echt gewoon je eigen plek met zelfs een overdekte parkeerplaats voor de auto. De WiFi was goed, zelfs YouTube kijken ging zonder problemen. Het enige wat echt niet goed voor ons was was het bed. Het is smal en kort. Met wat schuiven van...

'This cottage is represented well by the photographs on the website. It had everything we needed for our stay. We are two adults and two children (15, 12) and there was adequate room for us all. There were no issues with parking directly outside the property, we managed to get a space everytime. Helmsley is a lovely place, everyone was very friendly. This cottage was an excellent base for exploring the nearby area.'
We love the character of the property and the location is spot on for that perfect family holiday.

'My partner and I (and our dog) stayed at Gemma’s lovely cottage and we couldn’t be happier! Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma!'

'We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. 'The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.'

'Really good stay. Had an issue with the bathroom plug and was able to speak to someone straight away. Very hot in the apartment, especially the bathroom. Another fan or two would have been great. Only issue was in the parking area, very tight to get out the space when all spaces were being used. Walkable to everywhere if interest. Would recommend and stay again. '
