'Lovely hotel with amazing views. The staff although a bit scared at times, were excellent. Gloucester is easily reachable by car, we had a fantastic meal at the docks both for dinner and a late breakfast. The cathedral is a must, we had a really interesting guided tour.'

'I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). '

'We had a lovely couple of nights at this beautiful hotel. Our room wasn’t ready until 4.50 pm which was a bit disheartening after a 3 hour drive and it was disappointing we were just offered a cup of tea and a sit in the lounge. This could have been handled better . The food was delicious, it was very quiet and beautiful lounges a shame there wasn’t anything to encourage guests to stay downstairs after dinner. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. '
