Vernieuwde 120-jarige Adobe, in het historische dorp New Mexico

Een volledig gerenoveerd adobe woning van 1100 vierkante meter, met een grote slaapkamer en een volledig uitgeruste keuken, woonkamer, badkamer met inloopdouche. Gelegen aan de High Road naar Taos in het historische Truchas New Mexico. De grote ramen in de slaapkamer bepalen volledig het uitzicht op de Truchas-toppen, die op 13.100 voet het omliggende platteland domineren. Er is ook een extra 400 voet overdekt portaal voor ontspanning tijdens uw ontbijt of happy hour.

De adobe werd 10 jaar geleden volledig gerenoveerd met een nieuwe keuken en badkamer - veel van de oude elementen zoals de vigas en de adobe-muren werden behouden. De casita is uitgerust met traditionele details, waaronder met de hand gesneden meubilair, gepleisterde muren en houten vloeren.

Zonnepanelen zijn ook geïnstalleerd in de afgelopen 3 jaar om onze ecologische voetafdruk te verkleinen.

Its hard to imagine anywhere better to stay if you are in search of beauty, solitude and grace. The hosts were perfect, the property magical. The listing is way understated, this is the place you have been looking for if you want to take in the beauty of the high road and make a few wonderful meals for yourself.

We wanted to find a place that was close to Taos, Santa Fe and Abiquiu and Truchas seemed like the perfect place. I had never heard of Truchas before, but immediately fell in love with the place and the Casita when I saw it on Vrbo. Usually we stay in town, either Taos or Santa Fe so this was different as it is very secluded in a good way. We live outside a small town in Texas so we were used to having to drive a bit for groceries or restaurants. 30 minutes for both. The casita is a work of art! The furniture and woodwork in the house is amazing, as well as the smooth, calming adobe walls. Extremely peaceful and perfect as our landing place after exploring Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, Taos and Santa Fe.

This beautifully restored adobe is perfect for a peaceful, quiet getaway. We loved taking long walks in the cool clean air and resting in the lovely patio with a gorgeous view of the mountain scenery. When we could tear ourselves away from our comfortable nest, it wa a short trip to Chimayo and its sacred and culinary attractions. The road to Taos is longer but scenic and interesting. Owners Annette and Ben are the best hosts!

Lovely, quiet, comfortable, unforgettable (in a good way!)

The adobe was redone to create an inviting, comfortable getaway between Santa Fe and Taos. The furnishings seemed to have been picked to create a cosy, relaxing home that has everything you need to step away from daily life. It’s quiet, with stargazing opportunities, and rambles around the rural, artsy neighborhood. The host makes a great neighbor..friendly but not intrusive. We’d go back in a second!

Exquisite property

Beautiful home and amazing views. All of the interior had hand hewn wood doors, furniture, hinges, etc., with all of the modern amenities (designer kitchen). We literally did not want to leave the property; however the home is an easy drive to Rancho de Chimayo or Tesuque Market for dinner, and Santa Fe or Taos for an easy day or afternoon trip to visit galleries, museums, etc. There is grocery shopping nearby in Espanola (i.e., Walmart, etc.). Be sure to check out Sugar Nymphs, a close by restaurant. We prefer staying outside of Santa Fe to avoid the traffic and noise. This is is a great place to stay if you want to explore the entire area including Colorado (take a day trip to Durango or Pegosa Springs). The casita is quiet, a great place to relax and recharge.

Beautiful and peaceful!

We really enjoyed our stay at Annette and Ben's! Their adobe was one of the nicest places we've stayed, very comfortable to come back to after our hikes, had the necessary kitchen supplies including a good assortment of basic spices and condiments to cook some of our own meals and was in a beautiful location. Ben brought us fresh eggs, shared hike suggestions and was great at getting back to us. Their place is in a very rural area which was perfect for us. We loved sitting outside on the patio listening to the many birds while we enjoyed lunch or a snack after one of our hikes. If you enjoy rural life or need to get away from the city, I highly recommend Annette and Ben's adobe!

Breath of fresh air

We wanted a place to recharge and escape from our hectic life. This place is off the beaten path and lovely. The stars at night are glorious. A short trek through beautiful country to either Santa Fe or Taos. Quiet, peaceful, comfy! The hooting owl and light snow made it picture perfect. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again next time we head that way.

Beyond Expectations

Lets start with the beautiful drive to the Casita. Gorgeous quaint rustic scenery. The Casita is situated with views from all directions. The checkin was so easy and the owners were very quick with all communication. The inside is so stunning and cozy it was really ideal for what i was looking for, decompress and enjoy.. I hope whoever reads stays longer then 2 days, because its just not enough. The owners have thought of everything and you'll really need nothing. There is also so much to see and do in all seasons. Thank you for sharing ypur stunning home with me..

Beautiful remote adobe house

The location is remote but beautiful. Truchas is a ways away from everything but if you’re looking for quiet and getting away this is a great rental. We were greeted by the host dog named Buddy and the host Ben showed up soon after we arrived. We needed an extension cord to run our Roku on the TV and Ben showed up in minutes delivering one. Loved staying here and I would definitely recommend it. Lots of room and it feels like home!!!

Relaxing getaway

This is our 3rd stay, and we will be back next year. The house is beautiful and we love sitting on the patio watching light play on the mountains. The hosts are wonderful—thanks for fresh eggs! It’s an easy and lovely drive to Chimayo or even Taos and nice to retreat back into the quiet of this property.
